David Leadbetter expands to Coral Creek Club
By Dave Daubert
Placida, Florida--Legendary golf instructor David Leadbetter has been named Director of Instruction at the exclusive Coral Creek Club in Southwest Florida. In a multi-year agreement, the world-class teacher will oversee Coral Creek's program, train the professional staff in his methodology, and be available to members for lessons and coaching at a special rate. Coral Creek Club has an outstanding Tom Fazio-designed golf course set in 211 acres that flows around estuaries, through native southern pines, oaks, and natural vegetation.
"We are fortunate to have David as our Director of Instruction," says Tom Noyes, CCC General Manager. "His affiliation will enhance the Club's reputation, and this is a fantastic opportunity for our members. In addition to helping our professional team broaden their coaching skills, the added exposure and credibility David brings will aid in continuing to spread the amazing story that is the Coral Creek Club. Following the recent Fazio renovation of the course, the club's new chapter is just now being written."
The Tom Fazio 7038 yard design creates a harmonious transition from Mother Nature to a golf course of infinite beauty and one of Florida's best kept secrets. Opened in the year 2000 Coral Creek Club is located in Charlotte County in the village of Placida where the Coral Creek meets the tranquil waters of Gasparilla Sound which empties into the Gulf of Mexico at Boca Grande. The Club is set on a piece of land with a unique absence of homes with panoramic views of the bordering waters full of mangroves and untouched forests throughout. The only building is the 17,000 square foot award-winning clubhouse with its classic architectural style reminding one of Old Florida. Visit CoralCreekClub.com.
"Coral Creek Club is a hidden gem that is about to be discovered," said Leadbetter. "This Fazio masterpiece can be enjoyed by golfers of all levels (6 sets of tees) and will provide a stern test for the very best players off the back tees. The club will be mentioned in the same breath as many other world-class venues that I have had the good fortune to visit during my career. I would say it has 'major winner' written all over it. I am proud and excited to become the director of instruction at the beautiful Coral Creek Club and to help the members with their games."
Leadbetter has already visited the Club a number of times to consult on the finer points of the practice facilities. In his 30-year career, David has coached touring professionals to 26 major championship titles, helped seven PGA TOUR stars reach the number one position on the Official World Golf Rankings and counts his lessons to have resulted in over 150 individual worldwide tournament victories.
